I wonder in some out there could give me a idiot prof way of installing Naim net into a mac mini?
I had a shuttle pc running windows xp with my HDX but sadly it died the other night, so i went out and purcased a Mac Mini. Im starting to think it was i big mistake as i have tried loading up my Desktop client application disk only to be told that it does not understand the format. Does anyone have a step by step guide they could post. Many thanks guys

The HDX DTC is windows only based. Unless you have a mac which is capable of running both windows and apple operating software so you can load the Naim software onto the windows portion, I'm afraid you will need to return your mini.
If your just going to use the computer to run your HDX then you can buy a notebook pc for less than a mac mini and have a really nice screen for control.

There is of course no need to return the Mini.
As an Intel Mac, you could partition the HD using Bootcamp to run a full Windows system separate to the Mac OS, which you would choose upon startup. If you have no other use for this, this is somewhat drastic and inconvenient, to say the least, just to run Naim's DTC.
A better option, would be to acquire some PC emulation software, such as VMware Fusion or Parallels, which will give you a windows environment as an 'application', running active alongside your Mac OS - so basically, you would have a separate application you click into and within that window you can have the HDX DTC software running...You can of course use this PC environment for anything else that may be of use also....
A bit of a phaf, I agree, but I guess the Naim software engineer isn't a Mac or Linux fan.....
Hope this helps with your situation a bit...
Steve.
