Think my all time bargain was Terry Reids - River album in a bargain bin at Virgin, Edinburgh way back in the early '70's. When it was a small shop of about the twice the size of most peoples living room.

What a bargain - $1.00 for an album by the great man - it's enough to have you rockin' all over the world.

From the Crucible Theatre, head up towards the Town Hall and the pedestrian precinct and you have a quite big Virgin Records on the right. Just up from there, through Barker's Pool / City Hall past the war memorial (Big flagpole thing), is Fopp which have good prices and selection. 100yds or so up the road from there (opposite side of the road in a little precinct thing) is "Jack's." OK'ish (variable, so worth a look) selection of 2nd hand vinyl and CDs. If you stretch your legs a bit further, Audio Images is the Naim dealer in Sheffield to visit.

There used to be a good (ie wide selection) 2nd hand record shop up near the university, but I haven't been there for years. Hopefully someone will confirm or deny its existance. (It would also be a bit more of a trudge to get there.) Not sure of the situation more out of town, but I'm doubtful if there is much.
