Rating cable

Anybody know what max amperage rating 6mm twin & earth has compared with its 10mm alternative?
I,m using some screed camains cable rated at 20amps...with an mcb at 15amps now I quess the question I,m really asking is can I replace the 15 amp mcb with one rated at 20amps...I can't go higher than this can I or the cable gonna melt if the kit tries to drawe more than 20 amps. I may have to rethink the mains, by replacing the 20 amp cable(as a ring) with a 10mm/6mm spur...thoughts anyone before I blow meselfs up

Cheers

40amps and 53amps respectively according to the TLC catalogue.
10mm2 is for wimps though. What you really need is 25mm (97amps) minimum.

PS. I'm joking of course.

So on the strength of that I should consider the single spur with a 32 amp mcb..could be tricky though..don't want to mess up the decor!

Mess up the decor?
It all depends where you need to run your cable. I reckon 6mm² is going to be as likely as 10mm² to ruin your decor! Can you pass the cable under floorboards to get to where you need?
!!! There's always money somewhere for the next upgrade... !!!

before you say take it up....
Its from Ikea ...yes thats right the glue together stuff plus if thats not bad enough I fitted this before I fitted the skirting boards, so to get it up the boards would have to off, hence the old ruined decor!
I might be able to use the existing cable to pull through some 6mm...maybe?..but never 10mm!!!!!
