It's not here - where are you, the north pole?

Anyway if we did get snowed in, Pugh, Pugh, Barney McGrew, Cuthbert, Dibble and Grub would be round to dig us out.

20cm here - managed to spin my MR-2 into a ditch. Car & me OK - my stupid fault as I haven't winter tyres on yet.

Still, it all looks lovely.

Not sure that winter tyres would have helped. I've lived here longer than I'd care to remember, and we always get cars in ditches at the first flurry of snow. In my experience, winter tyres are not a magic cure all. The only thing they really help with are when pulling away from lights when the road is covered in sheet ice. Without studs, you just drift from side to side adding to the polish.

Do not think that winter tyres will allow you to take curves at the same speed you would on a dry road mid summer. They won't. Not unless you have some trick rally tyres and the skills to match.

God no! I was going in a straight line, downhill at 25kph. I'd have settled for a corner at any speed. Cool

PS The kombi with studded tyres was fine and the guy who came to pull me out of the ditch was in shorts in sub-zero temperatures.
