What is your single top upgrade?

Muchachos
leaving aside the obvious ( I bought Naim...), what is your single best buy? And why?
I would seriously consider the Akiva cartridge as mine. Fantastic grip of detail, much more bass and overall control, noise floor greatly reduced ( how?? ) and yet, more musical and involving. The acid test is that I have never listened to as much music as I do now.

Mike

Hi,
1) CDS2/52/250?Royd ALbion to CDS2/52/250/Wilson Benesch ACT2. So much speed, expression, depth, purity of timbre, cohesiveness and musicality with holographic imaging. From Iggy and the Stooges to Gregorian Chants, this was what put my system over the edge.
2) System above to 500. All the above with deeper bass, cleaner trebble, more 3d (above seemed flat by comparisson) and CONTROL. On a lot of dance music the above system was a bit wild with the bass, the 500 has fixed most of this. About 65% of the previous upgrade in overall terms (although different in character).
Now with 552 and new ACT or Chimera as the next possible steps my bank acount is having a heart attack just thinking about it!

Two major upgrades:
1) Recapping my 135's (mid 1980's vintage)
2) Replacing my 32.5/HiCap with a 52/SuperCap
The recapping of the 135's was without a doubt the cheapest most amazing upgrade.
