I was told that (Many years ago) the main importer for Sweden added a heafty mark-up, making Naim less competetive than it should be. I have no idea what the current situation is on that front, nor how active Naim are in 'selling' their equipment/brand on mainland Europe. There must be a break even point in terms of volume to make dealer training and support worthwhile. Also the strength of the pound (at least against the Swedish Krona) must affect how worthwhile a given market - country - is.
Any comments from the marketing folk ?

I work in a multinational European environment where French is (still) the working language. There is a clear preference for French by the Portugese, Spanish, French (of course), Italians, Belgians and Luxembourgish. English is in general preferred by the Irish, English, Dutch, Germans, Austrians, Greeks (depends on education), Danes, Finnish and Swedes.
How do you call somebody who speakes three languages? Trilingual
How do you call somebody who speakes two languages? Bilingual
How do you call somebody who only speakes one language? French or American ![]()

Reply from southern Sweden:
It's possible that there was a mark-up in those days when Euphonia was around, but I don't know anything about the naim situation in Sweden prior to -94. Nowadays I don't think there is a main importer. I think all Swedish naim dealers are dealing with naim UK directly and that there is no particular mark-up. I think the prices are directly comparable to the prices in the UK.
The Swedish naim dealers that I know of are:
Tonlaget HiFi (Gothenburg)
HiFi Art (Stockholm)
Lasses HiFi (Falun and Borlänge)
Are there any other dealers around?
