If I only bought two Stone's al***s...

Just been on holiday and found our cottage equipped with an old Naim amp (!) but a fairly grotty slection of CD's.

Amongst them was 'Forty Licks-Best of Rolling Stones' and this is the first time I've ever actually listened to them. Not earth-shattering but I enjoyed enough to buy a CD or two think.

So, do I buy this particular 'Best Of' set, is there a better compilation album or if I was to but just two Stones albums which should they be?

'Stripped' is very good.....and I have a lot of 'stones albums.

Exile is absolute genius....others are also works of genius. Sticky Fingers, Let it Bleed (so much less drippy than the Beatles), Aftermath etc etc.

If you can get 'Live at Leeds' bootleg then it has the best version of 'Midnight Rambler' I've ever heard.

Enjoy

I second that about Exile on main street.
That album is excellent and has to be regarded as a must have, by any ones standards, IMHO.

One of my all time favourite live album is Get yer ya ya´s out.
On the matter of bootlegs, try the Live in munich 1973, Bedspring symphony.
