MotoGP 2009

Posted by: Stephen Tate on 16 May 2009

On at 12:30 BBC2 today.
Should be a stonker at Le Mans, they give it 80% chance of rain and what a line up for the first six!
My guess is Rossi will piss it even though he is forth on the second row of the grid but it's tight. Ethier way i suspect it will be edge of seat stuff with Pedrosa, Rossi, and Stoner battling it out & ringing it's neck at any given chance. I can't see Lorenzo being up with the other three even though he qualified second. He just dosn't have the guts and determination of the over three in a race in my opinion. we shall wait and see though! can't wait!

colin edwards loves the place and will be the dark horse to watch.

Coming to a more exciting stage of the season i feel...

Sunday BBC2 12:50
Alice Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland.(round 9)

Rossi - 151 points
Lorenzo - 142 points
Stoner - 135 points

This bunch are destined to excite.

With Pedrosa closing the gap on 92 points and if he takes this one? well...we are in for one hell of a ride methinks on the closing stages of this season, hold tight Big Grin

Rossi on pole.
Lorenzo 2nd, Stoner third, N Hayden forth.

Ducati vs Yamaha? Cool
Posted on: 19 July 2009 by Stephen Tate
I take back what i said about Lorenzo not having enough grit and determination. Lorenzo has been the man of the season for me so far, i hope he sticks with Yamaha and dosen't decide to move to Honda because he and Rossi are something special together...

Can't wait for Brands hatch next week.

Another great race from Pedrosa, he's piling on the pressure. Things can only get more edge off seat IMO.

I'm sure you MGP guys will have sympathy for John Surtees, whose son Henry was killed today, at Brands Hatch in a Formula 2 race.
A really bizarre accident when he was hit on the head, by a flying wheel, from an accident involving another car.
Posted on: 19 July 2009 by Stephen Tate
Yes of course. I wasn't aware of this incident today BigH, very sad to hear this news indeed.
My deepest sympathies goes out too.

I was relieved to see Dovizioso concede today because of a shot front tyre, god knows what might of happened if he'd carried on...

BBC1 15:00 Sun 26th

1 Rossi
2 Pedrosa
3 Lorenzo
4 Stoner

All very tight.
Posted on: 26 July 2009 by Stephen Tate
Well, what surprising results, very eventful.
Dovizioso rode a blinding race and deserved the win.
Great to see Colin Edwards in second. Great scraps with Randy De puniet.
Could'nt believe the decision with tyres from Ducati Confused Hayden and Stoner last, sums it up.
Rossi did well to claw back to 5th.
Poor old Lorenzo. still, i enjoyed the race and felt for the riders in the unpredictable British weather and those white lines.

Can't help feeling what the race would of been like if the track was dry. Winker
Good to see Toseland in the points too.

poor old lorenzo cant quite handle rossi - watching it reminded me of sete gibernao always coming off 2nd best.

Rossi is a legend, a consistant one at that.
Lorenzo keeps making silly mistakes.

It's a shame Stoner has been so unwell, he would be the only one to really threat the Yams if he was on form.

Rossi had been struggling for grip all W/E and was quite off the racing line when he dropped it.

Interesting to see Lorenzo could take a tighter line through the corners than Rossi. If he didn't have the 50 point lead, he probably would have settled for 2nd place but he's too much of a winner for that, so he went for the win. Credit to him for that - the battles between them this year have been great.

Rossi knows that Lorenzo is the real deal (not doing bad in only his 2nd season and up against the best ever) and has upped his own game too. Just hope the kid sees sense and sticks with Yamaha - i think it's his best chance to beat Rossi and would be even sweeter doing it on identical machinery.

It seems ages since the last one but for those who are into real racing... Winker

Round 14 - Estoril
Sunday 04 Oct
12:30 BBC2

I feel it's gonna get sooo excitng towards the end of this season.

You got Ben Spies from WSB is replacing James Toseland, teaming up with Colin Edwards.
Casey Stoner is back on the scene.
Rossi & Lorenzo with their competitive spirits!
Pedrosa...
All we need now is Jonathan Rae & Noriyuki Haga from WSB's!!! This would mean war wouldn't it? Big Grin

Jeez, these are top drawer bike racers here. Legends in their own right... altogether this seems to be potentially shaping up into some seriously exciting bike racing in the coming months. Hopefully the best we've ever seen.

so wheres toseland going ? back to superbikes i suppose.
Posted on: 02 October 2009 by Stephen Tate
Yep, as Stu rightly predicted long ago, Toseland has returned to WSB's 2010.
Can't believe Spies is coming on the scene Cool He might be all arms & legs but he's got loads of guts and determination. It will be interesting to see how he copes with the smaller bikes.
Posted on: 04 October 2009 by Stephen Tate
Faultless race from Jorge Lorenzo, good to see him get a proper win.

Don't know what happened to Rossi. Maybe because of the recent low sides in the last few races he has become uncomfortable with the bike. . . He did seem nervous in and out of corners which would suggest the bike wasn't set up to his liking.

Good to see Stoner upsetting the apple cart as it were. That Duke maybe a pig to ride but it easily sounds the best.

Pedrosa doing one of his classic catapult starts is always amusing Smile

With three races left and the points getting ever tighter, Rossi is under some real pressure now. Wait when spies gets in, the so called Rookie and the Red neck team is only going to add too all the excitment. Spies is making a wild card appearance in the last race at Valencia.

Excellent circuit, i thought...Estoril

Didn't get to see the qualifying. Just see the race on I player.

Good to see Rossi & Stoner back at it. I miss their battles, it's been a while with these two...
