Foxtrot - Sounds from Behind.......?
Posted by: GraemeH on 23 July 2009
Anyone else on 'Get 'em Out By Friday' have sounds coming from way behind the listening position during the spoken 'apology'?.
I've actually looked behind twice to check it wasn't something real!!.
Graeme
PS It's the 2008 remaster which is a bit sharp in some places....

Graeme
I'll try mine at the weekend. I normally just listen to the stereo version but will try out the surround mix on the TV system to see if i get the same.
Cheers

Greame,
Try and get a original copy, ie when it first went onto cd.
Much better sounding disc.
Stu
Would that be the 1990 version Stu?
Thanks

My fav cd copy is number 7 81848-2Atlantic.
It only has the original album release date 1972 on it.

Graeme,
Afraid you must be imagining things - no-one behind me! All there in front of me. What I would say though is that the new 2008 version of Foxtrot whilst pretty good does not get the airplay with me as as well as being remastered it is also remixed. Not too different but subtle changes and I grew up with the originals so that is what I play.
I have four CD versions of Foxtrot as well as three vinyl - guess I must like this album! For me the original UK CD is very good CASCD1058 as is the 1994 Definitive Edition Remaster. You cannot go wrong with either.
Cheers

Thanks folks. A copy of the CASCD 1058 version dropped through my letterbox today and, boy, is it superior in every way to the 2008 (ahem)'remaster'.
Much less 'thin', much more texture, esp on Gabriel's vocals and a much more natural sounding mix. Low bass is better too.
