Anyone interested in upgrading from 92r/90?

Hello Dear Members,
I just started out into Naim ladder and manage myself a good second-hand CD3.5(good deal although didn't like travelling 3hrs. to collect it). Now I am tirelessly looking through all kinds of Ads to see anybody out there wanting to part with a pair of 92/90 combo,(would prefer a later model).Got some cash burning a big hole inside my pocket and need to part it before wife changes her mind.
After that I'll need to start hunting a pair of speakers that really sing with these set up. I listen mainly to acoustic instrumental pieces, i.e acoustic guitar and piano(Keith jarrett). Anybody's got any suggestion to which speakers, would welcome all of your wisdoms.

Thanks,
km

If nobody is about to sell a 92(R)/90 combo, and the usual sources like Ebay, Loot, hi-fi mags' classifieds don't yield, then you need to look at buying a Nait 5. When this amp is fully warmed up, it can really sing, as well as drive difficult speaker loads... to a point.

If you find a Nait 3, then even better, IMHO.

I would suggest JM Lab 806s on their dedicated wooden stands @ £500 as a good start.

Later, a Flatcap (2) to your CD player will make a big difference regarding bass control and soundstaging/scale.

Make sure that you use only Naim Naca5 cables with minimum lengths of 3.5m per side, though.

Cheers,

Steve.

Hi!
Another speaker that is a good partner to a nait 3 or 92/90 is the Epos es 11.
I suppose you could pick up a good secondhand pair in Uk at a very reasonable price including dedicated stands. IMO they were designed to match the naim amplifier very well.
