"Bohemian Rhapsody" gets my vote as the all-time overrated piece of bad music and lyrics.
Just awful.

This being said, if you ever heard this song in French, Roch Voisine's "Hélène" is a classic:

Tout seul sur la plage
Les pieds dans l'eau
Mon rêve était trop beau
L'été qui s'achève, tu t'en iras
À 100,000 lieues de moi

Absolutely, positively horrible songwriting!
