Spotify & Laptop

I am currently having to make do with Spotify Premium via headphones (Denon AH-D7000) through Sony Vaio whilst I have work done on the house and the Hi-Fi is boxed up Frown

The stream is only at 320 kbps so does it matter that this is running through the souncard in the laptop or would I get big improvement by bypassing it somehow (how?) and then taking into a DAC/headphone amp. I have a Headline/supercap but would need to then unpack the 252 and wonder whether it is really worth it in the meantime? I guess the nDAC is an option as well? Help! Serious withdrawal symptoms.

Yes you would get improvements bypassing the soundcard, 320kps is really quite good!

My favourite way, if the laptop is you only digital source is to use a devilsound dac, they are really neat and tidy bits of kit.

Otherwise there are a loads of alternatives including ndac...really depending how far you want to take it
