Copy-Protected CD's

Does anyone know of a website that lists what CD's are copy-protected? Thanks.

I'm looking into this myself. You may wish to start here:

Thanks Martin. I tested some of the CD's found on that site and the only problem child is Blur's "Think Tank". I bought it in July, but emailed Amazon.com today (my new CDP's lack of appetite for Blur sparked all of this). Here's a portion of their surprising reply:

"You may return most items sold by Amazon within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. As a one time exception we will refund you in full for the CD "Think Tank [ENHANCED] [EXPLICIT LYRICS]" after we receive your return."

I'm pleased that Amazon's accomodating me, but it does leave me without one of 2003's best albums.

Looks like one of their standard software generated replies, like you get from the banks or utilities; No one their cares.

I would like it if the record company would offer the option for a "proper" red book standard cd for those whose machines it won't play in.

Yep, bought the Blur album and have the problem reading the first track. Perhaps Naim can workaround it with their software as it works ok in my car's cd (I do have the latest software revision of naim's software too.)

It's a brill' album and I'm not going to send it back. I think a stiff letter to EMI maybe better (at least it helps me cope with the anger and the totally myopic behaviour of these plonkers.)

The sad/ironic thing is that the whole album is available from numerous souces on Soulseek and so EMI's efforts are in vain. The people who want it for free WILL get in for free. Unfortunately it's those of us who are willing to pay that get burned.

Yep - that's about the shape of it. Plus, if YOU want a copy to play in YOUR CDP, you then have to burn one using workarounds = software piracy.

Effing ridiculous!
