Q. Can you mix Sats & Arivas?
Absolutely!
The n-SATs, on stands, are nearly exactly the same height, driver positioning, etc., but, more importantly, share the same tweeter with the Ariva, and use similar mid/bass drivers.

Make sense - it should sound wonderful.
I would use nSATs all round rather than a mixture of Sats/Arivas - but I see no reason why you couldn't mix them if that gives you the sound you are after.

Forgot to mention that our (small) AV / test dept. dem room, by chance, has Arivas installed for the front channels, n-SATs for surrounds and (occasionally) one n-CENT and n-SUB for true 5.1 testing.
I tend to use this room, though, more for DVD-Audio and general two-channel listening/testing.
Arivas also make great rear speakers for a 4.0 system with larger front speakers (e.g., DBLs), especially when set as "large".

Perhaps I should give the Arivas another chance. Do you feel they are better for 2 channel listening than nSats in a small room?
