In God we trust PartII

While the Jacko trial has caught the eye of many across the globe in another court room in Topeka The theory of Darwinism and Intelligent Design are fighting for control of children's minds all across the state.

No matter who you support their can only be one winner and if things don't quite go as expected a lot of school kids will be the loosers.

Agreed, although if it were my kids and the wrong verdict was given, I would move to another State.

Here in England we're looking to move house again and the availability of good state schools is a big factor in our choice of location.

True, but you'll have to look even further if you want them to have a proper, genuine education; there isn't one available here.

Wrong verdict? There's no argument:

Fritz, nor can I. This subject drives me insane. My wife and I do all we can to keep our 12 year old twins from any religious "philosophies" - it is polluting, mind narrowing, divisive and offensive to an open mind. We do discuss it with them, and give them the facts however. We now have some "city academies" read Blair PFI schools in the UK grant funded by the state being run by fundamentalist christians.

See below:

King's Academy, in Middlesbrough, paid £290,214 to organisations and individuals associated with its sponsor, Sir Peter Vardy, a local businessman and Christian fundamentalist. The payments included £14,039 to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association for time spent on academy work by Sir Peter’s brother David who is an employee of the association. Emmanuel College in Gateshead, which is also sponsored by Vardy, charged King's Academy £122,514 for "educational advice". John Burn, Emmanuel's former head teacher, who is a director at King's, was also paid £43,107 for educational advice.

City academies, as with other state schools, are expected to obtain at least three quotations before purchases of services. However, according to the academies who made payments to organisations related to their sponsors, Alex Reed and Peter Vardy, said that none of the work for these payments had been put out to tender.

This book should be compulsory reading
Any religious types beware, it contains the truth (and is a brilliant read BTW)

If you look at Mr. Bush you see the missing link of evolution.
I've heard that if you touch "down there" you can get pregnant.
If you are male and touch "down there" you can impregnate someone.
It's not written if another male or a female.
Even the woman walkin' down the road under your window is at risk.
Something could reach her.

It is not the faith schools I have a problem with it is just the bad science and muddled thinking that is associated with some of the teachings being offered by these educators. Throughout history many examples exist of good science flourishing in conjunction with places of religious learning where many advances in the fields of maths, astronomy and medicine that owe everything to the Arab and Muslim scholars of old. I feel is often the case that the dogmatic following of some aspects of teaching offered is down to some administrators who for reasons best known to themselves may feel threatened by things they do not understand and so wish to shield others from these disturbing ideas.

Be very, very careful what you put into that head, because you will never, ever get it out.

The court has still yet to decided if the glass is half empty of half
full but whatever happens I'm sure the court's decission will be throughly examined by all concerned.
