Help!Any Cream experts out there?

Can anyone tell me if Cream ever recorded a version of House of the Rising sun?I don't know of a version, but there are beers riding on the answer(yes-it's THAT important)

I assume you mean the 1966-68/9 power-trio, not the dance exponents.

I believe all their studio recordings are on the wonderful boxed set from a couple of years ago, 'Those Were The Days'. Amongst them is not a version of 'House of the Rising Sun'.

Why would they?

Like I said-I didn't think there was a version,it was one of those pub discussions that escalated as the Guiness flowed.Might have been a cool cover though..

You might have been thinking of 'We're Going Wrong' from the Disraeli Gears album, also strongly featured on the 1968 Albert Hall farewell concert, which sounds vaguely similar...
