Which artists are you seeing in 2009?

It seems to be that time of year when next years tours are announced. So perhaps a central spot to see who we've missed so far?
Our List so far
Richard Thompson January RFH
Jackson Browne
Aussie Pink Floyd
Ultravox in April
Jean Michel Jarre in May
Porcupine Tree in October

With my parents visiting us I added two more classical performances to my agenda.
The first one on Monday at the Recital Hall (amazing acoustics!) -
Genius is not a word to be used lightly, but Australian pianist Geoffrey Lancaster has it. His astounding performance of a Haydn concerto in the 2006 Mozart series won an ovation and showed just how brilliant and exciting Haydn’s music can be. In 2009, the bicentenary of Haydn’s death, we bring him back to Angel Place in a recital of four great sonatas, performed on a fortepiano such as the composer might have played himself.
The second one on Friday at the Opera House -
In the concert, Vladimir Ashkenazy conducts the orchestra and violinist Sasha Rozhdestvensky in Shostakovich's powerful First Violin Concerto, plus his own dark, rich and deeply felt orchestration of Mussorgsky's famous Pictures at an Exhibition. In the hands of these two Russian-born masters, this is as real and intense as Russian music gets!

Reprieved! I had been scheduled to see The Specials last Wednesday only to have a 'must attend' work commitment take precedence over the whole of last week.
I arrived back yesterday after being locked away in the Lake District for 4 days to discover that the gig was cancelled and rescheduled for Saturday 16th May.
Result!

Eddi and the band were in great form last night. First time to one of her concerts. Highly recommended.
Opening with the wonderful "Wild Mountainside", the set focussed on selections from "Love Is The Way" , "Peacetime" and the Burns album. Eddi was in fine voiuce and good mood and it was enthusiastically received .
Before Eddi came on, Heidi Talbot did her support set with Boo Hewerdine
& John McCusker for accompaniment and I thought she was terrific too. She provided backing vocals for Eddi later on and they sang "Muddy Water" as a duet. Plus Boo got a couple of solo songs during the support slot and that was an added bonus.
They were selling John Mc Cusker vinyl with enclosed cd, also Heidi Talbot in same format, Only had cd versions of Eddi Reader material though.

I got the following:
Pearl Jam in August
Pink in October
Lily allen in November
and whatever crops up inbetween.....
Looking forward to it all, and surprisingly to Pink (it was her choice, but she gets to enjoy the music and I get to ogle. But I'm actually quite sure she'll put on a good show.)

Neil Young at Nottingham - but only because he's God. To be honest I could afford to attend lots of concerts but I live near Sheffield Arena and the £5 car park charge on top of the ticket price just grips my shit.
And don't get me started on Ticketmaster.

Have you seen the crap about the "processing charge"? Cost of postage, ticket processing and ticket printing!! Then they charge you postage again. I suspect they get a share of the ticket price as well, it almost makes you want to use the scalpers.......oh wait a minute just which ones are the scalpers?
