Morning folks,
just wondered what album/s have found themselves stuck in the spinner after so many years gathering dust on the rack......
For me it would have to be Primal Scream's - Screamadelica.
Maybe something to do with the hot weather, and chilled Stella.....
So what's stuck in yours....so to speak.....
Cheers,
Ali

After a threat a couple of months ago I dug out;
Talk Talk - The Colour of Spring
Hadn't played it for years, forgotten how good it is.

ON the spinner - Paul Simon's first 4 LPs - good memories/good sound/good music - think he said 20 years ago that digital was poor compared with analogue ... (although I have come to accept realities/convenience of Dr Digital).

Oh Good, we can talk about Paul Simon!
Two I go back to, are "Hearts & Bones" and the "Rhythm of the Saints". These two are the ones I play the most. The one that hooked me is "There Goes Rhytmin' Simon", this one is really very well recorded, as is "Hearts and Bones".
"Graceland" is a remarkable album, I go back to it sometimes, but it doesn't touch me in the smae way as "Hearts and Bones" in particular, but I'd recommend "Graceland" over "Rhythm of the Saints" to anyone who doesn't know Paul Simon's music.
Peter.

Peter,
I'll look into 'Hearts & Bones' for sure, 'Graceland' is the only album I own and it brings back happy childhood memories of listening to it with my mum....
Oh, I also own the 'Graceland - The African Concert' on dvd, which is great, full of energy and good music....plus some interesting characters.....I'd have to recommend that one back to you, if you have an a/v set up.....
Cheers,
Ali

Larks Tongues in Aspic...King Crimson.. I have a couple of younger friends who request this one when they visit.. I'm always astounded by how intense and album it actually is with some phenominal playing throughout.

In a previous life time I had this on Laserdisc!
I enjoyed it very much. I also saw Paul Simon during the touring for Graceland, Rhythm of the Saints and more recently "I'm the One", which is a nice album but doesn't grab the way his 80s recordings do.
If there's a Paul Simon Album that's just for the fans (hardcore) it's "Capeman"

This my way back in to KC after about 25 years of ignoring them!

I only had Simon's Rhymin Simon album on vinyl and find it to be one of those rare perfect albums. Very involving. Lately I"ve picked up Mother and Child Reunion, Still Crazy and One Trick Pony and Graceland all on vinyl. Wonderful stuff. He really knows how to record in analog. Mother and Child Reunion has some bass parts that are REALLY DEEP!!!
He also works well with other people and groups that help flavor his writing and playing.
On to another group Ive recently bought a bunch of Steely Dan stuff and finding their work to be quite wonderful after hearing them on the radio low these many years.

Ever since I got my new turntable (Rega P3) the dust(jackets) has been flying.
ELP - first album with Lucky Man
Haven't listened to them since Keith did a flip with his piano. I kind of like the way Carl Palmer's drums set off against the gooey synths and plungy bass lines - esp. on vinyl
Roxy Music - For Your Pleasure - An old high school favorite - when I pulled it out, I swear some strange green vegetation fell out of the gatefold....hmmmm.

Bought this the day it came out, it took me all of two years to realise that ELP weren't for me. I never could understand why Lucky Man got so much radio play
