Guitar happiness

Here I am pleased as punch with my new guitars, (together costing less than a Supercap).

They are both custom made and I chose the woods myself. The one on the left is a sitka spruce top with bird's eye maple back and sides. The travel guitar on the right is a cedar top with local walnut back and sides. They both play beautifully (well I think they would if they were in the right hands!).

It started me thinking that I get more value for money from all the craftmanship in these two instruments than those black boxes I sometimes buy.

I'm still having great fun with my new PRS Soapbar II - wonderful axe, highly recommended for anyone in the market for that sort of thing. A perfect synthesis of old and new, and the price is right.

So the one on the left is a 12-fret steel string? I think they sound great, much better than 14-fretters.
