'geddon for beginners

Hi there,

one of the rewards of upgrading my hifi was hearing the terrible things the Lingo does to the CDS and the Naim amplification. I had the chance to replace the Lingo with a reasonably-priced 2nd hand Armageddon which made things much better. I wasn't sure if I would appreciate the sound of the 'geddoned LP12 but I am glad to report that it is quite a bit more coherent and dynamic. I still have some questions about this piece of equipment (the inside looks like a gutted hicap to me) and hope for advice from experienced forum members:

1)Does the little plug on the bottom of the LP12 motor need to be on or off?
2)Does the sound profit from warming up? Do you leave it on continously or switch it off inbetween listening sessions?
3)Does it profit from a stable, hifi-esque stand or can it sit in any convenient place?

Your advice is much appreciated!

Jorg,

Don't leave it switched on, you'll just wear down the bearing of the LP12.

Enjoy
