Discman Recommendations ?

In the years between the Walkman and the iPod there was the Discman, portable CD player. Does anyone have a recommendation for a market leading model,in terms of sound quality and musicallity ?

Sony made two great CD Discman models around 2000/2001, the D-EJ925 and the D-EJ2000. I don't think that they're still made, but you still see new ones for sale on eBay from time to time. If you find one, just remember to throw away the supplied headphones and replace them with, say, one of the Sennheiser models.

The iRiver imp-350 is one of the best sounding portables that I have heard. They have been discontinued but can still be found new online.
Good article on portables etc. Headroom, maker of headphone amplifiers recommended this player.
