Man Utd striker Solskjaer to quit

Posted by: Ian G. on 28 August 2007

According to BBC Man U.'s talisman-ic super-sub's days are over. Always seemed like a true gent to me, with the knack of being in the right place at the right time. You always felt when he came on that he would make something happen.

Do ManU actually have any strikers left?

Solskjaer was a rare breed - a likeable Man Utd player - that everybody enjoyed watching.

He did the 'super-sub' bit very well for manure, but I remember him saying that he'd rather sit on the bench for them than be a main striker for other teams.
I don't see that as a great quality.
Still at least he pulled out of the game before permanently crippling himself, so he showed a bit of common sense there.
Matt.

I cannot watch this without a tear coming to my eye.

Sad but true...

A shame for him. He is/was an excellent player who would have walked into most other Premiership teams.

Although not a Man U fan, I jumped out of my seat when he scored that goal against Bayern Munich.

I wish him all the best.
