Shipping Naim gear

Posted by: ebirah on 08 September 2002

For once this post isnt about how to ship it - I'm hapy with that...it's the weight! Has anyone the remotest idea how much these things weigh? I put a supercap on my kitchen scales today and they nearly exploded! Surely someone has been down this route? I would guess about 10kg for a supercap? I also need to ship a CDS1 (ie head and CDPS) but I assume the supercap is the weightiest single item? Any fishermen with big scales out there? Also, any ideas on good international shippers? I was going to use Amtrak. Thanks

1) Stand on the bathroom scales to weigh yourself
2) Stand on the bathroom scales to weigh yourself with the package in your hands
3) Subtract 1) from 2) and you reliably get the weight of the package

Hi ebirah:

Regarding international shippers I would recommend *AGAINST* Forward Air Co. They lost all of my interconnects (seperately packaged) and would not honour the insurance claim.

Thanks guys - that's very hlpful. I know this sounds a bit odd but we genuinely don't have bathroom scales in our house. I'd like to think it has something to do with not being vain, but I doubt it!

Take em to the post office and get a quote. You don't have to use them...
