Hello Spencer
Do you have the correct cables from your Naim dealer? The Av2 uses the 2 DINs if I remember correctly.

Sorry Jay for the delay in my reply.
I purchased the two Din cables from Flashback who deal in Naim and Quad Hi-Fi cables.
Think my main problem is in the setup via the handset which is causing me the problems. I do not think the manual is that clear. Well not for me.

You can use a phono-phono into the AV2.
What's the exact nature of your problem Spencer? If there's no sound, check the Sony's configured to output stereo via its analogue outs. You will have to select downmix to stereo.
An alternative is to use the Sony's optical digital out into the AV2, or are you trying to use both this and the stereo analogue outs? You might find this isn't possible.

Hi, I'm assuming it's the Multi channels your trying. I've got mine set up using Chord (2 x phono & 4 x phone to Din) cables & the VIP set to 6CH, everything works perfect, just double check your settings on the Sony & the AV2. It is worth it, it sounds great.

Thanks for all the assistance.
I have installed the cables as directed by Flashback set the Sony to Multi Channel Analog set both VI1 and 2 to direct. When looking at page 6 of the manual (parameter setting) i am unable to see what the manual states ie 8CH.
If i press button 1 on the handset a i get a test tone on the Right and Left Channel. with no tone on any of the other 5 speakers plus sub.
I get a test tone when I press button 2 on the Center only.
I must be doing somthing very wrong in setting up the AV2.
If i use the optical output from the Sony all is well. I was told that using the Analog output would be best?
I have my AV2 connected to my naim 82 x 3 180's for the left and right channels 150 for the center and 2x 200 for the rear left and right and the other 200 for the extra rear rifht and left.
Sorry if i'm not makeing things clear.
Thanks again for all the help. Perhaps I should use the optical as that works.

I have a similar problem which I posted the other day with my Pioneer LX91 and AV2, see qote from my post below:
"I am having a problem connecting my Pioneer LX91 through the analogue connections of my AV2.
I am using cables supplied by my dealer as the Naim Av2 has Din connections with specific connections split across 2 Din sockets.
My speakers are also Bi-amp’d.
When I go into the set-up menus and try to set the levels for each speaker the test signal for the left channel comes through the left and right channel bass cones. The test signal for the right channel again comes through both left and right speakers but this time through the mid and treble cones.
I cannot hear a test signal through the Sub either.
My system is as follows:
Pioneer LX91 to AV2 to Naim Nac52 to 2x Bryston 4BSST to B&W 802D (front), Castle Richmond (rear), B&W centre, B&W ASW 855 (Sub)
I have checked all of the cable terminations against the manuals and all appear to be correct."
I do not have an answer yet but I am in conversation with my dealer.
I will let you know the outcome.

If you set the VI1 to 6CH or 8CH then the VI2 shouldn't be available (Page 6.2 in the manual).

Thanks again for your assistance I tried again to setup the AV2 after reading the reply from Charles and I managed to get the system to accept my setting to 8 Channels. How I did it I'm not sure, at this time I shall leave things so as to get the speaker setting right.
I shall then try and see where I went wrong.
So once again I would like to thank all who have sent there help.
They say when you get over you brain cels die perhaps mine are going much quicker than most.
Regards
Spencer.

If you manage to work out how you got it working please let me know. I have just spent another hour checking all of the cables, terminations and connections to no avail. This is getting really frustrating!

Hi Morri.
I will let you know how i managed to get there, I'm disabled and need some help with setting the system up. My son is visiting this weekend so will get him to assist. My remote will not work since getting the Analog working, from reading the forum it looks like i need to do a reset. Have tried the other way of getting the remote to work without any luck. So leave it with me, that is if you dont get there before the weekend and I shall try and write down how i got there after doing the reset.
Thanks again for the input.
Regards.
Spencer.
