"Can anybody enlighten me to anything about the above artist. She has an incredible version of Joni Mitchells Woodstock on a 3CD set Summer of Love on Dressed to Kill records METRO628 and I've searched the net but have been unable to find anything else by her or anything about her at all."

I posted the above on the Mojo website a month ago and got nothing. I know that the Naimies are an errudite lot and amongst you probably have one of the largest music resources on the planet. I don't know if she's British or American, I don't know when it was recorded all I know is that it's brilliant. Hope somebody can be of help.

No that's not her. Leyton is the spelling on the CD and I've tried every search engine I can find with no luck. Only hits I get are to sites selling the CD showing track listings. She appears to have completely vanished. This was probably the only thing she recorded and I don't know if it was a single. Having said that the CD lists singers on some of the tracks although the track were by groups ie. Grace Slick for Great Societys version of White Rabbit.It may be that this version of Woodstock was by an obscure band that she sang with or a bunch of session men. Maybe one day I'll find out.
