Naim Classik

Have there been any thoughts to produce a truely "all in one", i.e. cdp, tuner, pre and power? It would make for serious competition for the Linn Classik.

Tom,"give the punters what they want"!.
LINN PRODUCTS did a fine job shoe-horning all these units into the CLASSIK box.
certainly stole a mile on Naim.if i ever have to "downgrade" i'd have it on my list.

Just to add another angle.....

I intend to buy a Linn Classik for my conservatory rather than start running miles of cables through the house. Coupled with some in-wall speakers (B&W, Linn etc) this should give a much better sound than a similar priced BOSE system or even a Ghetto Blaster !

Richard P - Yep, you've guessed Waterfoot is very close to the Linn Factory. I stay about a 10 minute drive from Waterfoot and it is beautiful place to live - well done TOKSIK !

By the same logic does everyone in Salisbury own Naim ? God help the people in Cambridge !!!

Not only that, but he/she has two K's in their name!

Seriously though folks 'The Scottish Company' make an excellent v.f.m. Hi-Fi product in the Classik.

The danger is, that it treads the borders between quality and convenience and blurs its target customer base in the process.

I know that several Naim dealers would like to see a good quality, high power integrated amp for their customers who want to keep things simple.

I'm sure that Naim could make a great sounding 'Classik' type product, but would it sell?

It would probably have to retail at at least £2k to be viable, which moves it into 'specialist Hi-Fi' territory.

Hi David,

Besides Audio Genesis in Pyrmont, do you know of any other Naim dealers in Sydney? I'm planning to get the Nait 5i and am wondering where I can get the best price.

Thanks,
Tze-Ho

I believe that Audio One in Neutral Bay also stocks Naim.
The importers are
Company:
Stolmack Audio Pty Ltd
Tel: + 61 2 9984 0530
Fax: + 61 2 9984 0530

However, I have only really dealt with Harry York of Audio Genesis and I cannot think of a finer person to buy from. You'll get a fair price from Harry and incredible after sales service.

Hope this helps

The reason I asked the question about a Naimed Classik is that I bought one from Audio Genesis (when they used to deal in Linn).

It's been marvelous in my study where I do appreciate a simple uncluttered environment. The speakers are, I think, Sonance ceiling speakers.

I often listen late at night when the rest of the family is asleep (as now).

But with children growing up fast and wishing to give them an opportunity to enjoy music, a simple system would be fantastic. And importantly, I like it when the item has some sort of understated elegance or quality. A truck load of boxes will never achieve that.

In the main listening, other things are possible, especially when the boxes are hidden behind a Chinese screen. Remotes still seem to work.

I'll second the comment on Harry, Norman and Henry at Audio Genesis. Believe me that these guys really know about customer service. They are an absolute pleasure to deal with and have been in the gaim for years.

Of course, you can avoid the 4 other power supply boxes by opting for the Supercap.
