I discovered Vic Chesnutt in the mid 90s through the below album and enjoyed his work ever since.

RIP Vic.

Very sad ending, he was a courageous fellow. Very talented and unique. He will be missed. RIP

Sad news. I have never heard any Vic. Maybe I should check it out.

I had only first heard of Vic Chesnutt on a recent Fresh Air interview ... good songs, very moving. The man held a lot of pain ... physical, psychic, emotional ... and had attempted suicide more than once before. Now he's been released.

Sadly his wife is still responsible for his medical bills. Thank heavens for our National Health Service.

Kristen Hersh's tribute to her friend Vic. You can also donate towards his medical bills here

Terrible news.

Anyone who doesn't know him check out his LP 'Drunk' which was my favourite.

Guess it was time for him to "get the **** out of Dodge" as his song went.

RIP Vic. Thanks for the music.
