Armageddon

Hi there
Some time ago I made a post reporting that the largest single thing that I had done to improve my musical enjoyment was getting a proper vinyl record cleaner - in my case, I got a VPI one but I am sure that the Loricraft, Clearaudio ,Moth et al ones also work well.
I have now recently taken another step resulting in a major change - the Armageddon supply for my LP12.
I can honestly say that the Geddon has totally changed the sound coming off vinyl. I am a professional engineer and have been happily using a Valhalla'd LP12 for many many years and thought that things would only improve slightly with a Geddon or Lingo - this is absolutely not the case.
I cannot speak for the Lingo but the Geddon totally transformed things.
Bass - notes start and end exactly. Highs - are clear. Mids - wonderful. I also find that in listening to something, it is much easier to focus in on any instrument eg. the bass line or a piano or guitar - instrument separation has improved. Also the whole pace and rhythm is much clearer. I can hear many more rhythms in a piece of music - eg. the rhythm being used to pick a guitar and how it relates to the drummer and everyone else - the true art of the musicians comes through much better and makes me realise just how bad I am at playing! I guess that this also goes hand-in-hand with the pace, rhythm and timing that Naim products are famous for carrying. The soundstage has widened dramatically and the speakers now seem to be bits of furnishing lying about doing nothing as the sound does not seem to come from them.
Bottom line - whilst worrying/thinking about cables and/or changing other components etc. do also consider a Geddon (or maybe a Lingo?). I had a look inside my Geddon and it is pretty uninspiring (the Naim logo is not even wired up to light up) but performance is everything and it really does perform. I cannot recommed it strongly enough.
Anyway, thats enough ranting for now - I hope that this has been useful.
Cheers
Raphael
Ps. I would really appreciate hearing what I can do to my CD player to get this kind of improvement but would rather not hear useful suggestions like "get a CDS2/XPS" - I know that they are great (I used to have one) but cannot run to those prices right now.
