a few minutes ago, on jazz fm, i heard "son of preacherman" by dusty springfield. not my type of music at all in the sense that i would not go out to look for her stuff. BUT, when i heard this track on my active sbl system ealier, i was gobsmacked. i stopped working for a moment, put the volume up, and sat back and let it wash over me... oh my!!
enjoy

Ross is right. Dusty in Memphis is one of those albums everyone should have. The version of "Windmills Of Your Mind" is simply sublime.
The Four Men With Beards 180g re-release is an ace package too.

Hi
Two of my favourite Dusty tracks are "The look of love" with Burt Bacharach and his orchestra and Michele Legrand's stunning "What are you doing the rest of your life".

"The Look of Love" => Dionne Warwick

Sorry Herm
But I think Dusty's version is far superior, Colin Blunstone (The Zombies) made a very good cover of it as well.

I, too, prefer Dusty's version of The Look of Love to that of Dionne Warwick, not that hers is chopped liver by any means. But Dusty's voice and the song are one in my mind.

Ross - Surprised to see a man of your vocabulary using a term such as "CD store", which suggests to me an Americanised phrase, when your general manner appears to be English through and through (can't tell from your profile). I also think "sexiness" is a term guilty of dumbing-down in the context of music.
only playing..
