What is better ?

Hi,
CD5/Flatcap2/Nait2/Intro2
or
CD5/Nait5/Intro2
Is Flatcap 2 added to CD5 kind of a "don't listenifyoucan'tafford"?
I will appreciate your any kind advice,
Thank you.

CD5/Nait5/Intro2 wins hands down. The Nait 5 is miles ahead of the Nait 2. In this case, source first does not apply.
I ran a CD5/Nait5 with SBLs for nine months last year and it was fantastic...you could not do that with the older slimline gear.

Hi Ozren;
As ever; only you can answer this with the things on the side of your head.
A Flatcap2 does indeed transform a CD5, and although I use the new style amps; I don't consider a Nait 5 to be automatically better than Nait 2.
It's different; and you may prefer it.
Wish you hadn't asked?
P.S. You need to be aware that the Nait 2 has a channel imbalance problem at low volumes on CD, due to its relatively inferior volume 'pot'. The '5' does not suffer from this problem, and can do all sorts of other clever tricks because of its 'resistor-ladder-pot'
Good luck.

A Nait5 with SBL's
If this is the case I still have some hope with my NAC92/FlatCap/90.3 to run SBL's too. ?

Ian
The SBL is an easy load for an amp, and I've run mine to great effect on a Nait 2.
They do of course, dig deeper into their souls on better amps.
My friend has run his DBL's on a Nait 2 with no problems. You just can't go LOUD.

Really ?
, Well I am suprised with this. I always though SBL's were real monsters to drive.

Alex.
You are right, I must not get carried away here, although its easy done. I know HiFi and sense dont go together, but I have to be realistic, CDX yes is a real possibility, XPS and SBL's are well out of my reach.

Whilst its true a Nait 2 could run SBL's, they will sound better with better amplification.
I originally used my SBL's with a 72/hicap/140 and they sounded good.
However the SBL's sound improved up to another level, on the end of a 72/hicap/250.
They are now on the end of 52/supercap/250 and sound excellent.
They are great speakers.

Hi,
Thank you all.
I plan to go higher with amplification, but life brings me some other priorities for this year, so I will have to be satisfied with upgrade in range of about GBP700-800 for this year.
I can't even imagine what FC2 can bring to CD5, but only believe that improvement is...big. The problem is that I was listened Nait5, but with my ex. Epos12 and yes, it is better than Nait2, but I didn't like some crucial elements which Epos was produced driven by Nait5. I believe that Nait 5 is much faster than (my 14 y.o.) Nait 2 and much faster than Epos (if we can use that term for comparison two different components), so Nait 5, I mean Epos, but because of Nait 5, shorten' up the bass passages for example and Epos somehow rush through music material before he was done previous notes.
On the other side, I have had a chance to listen Nait 5 with Intro 2 (clearly faster speaker than any Epos, better say than any speaker I ever heard) at dealer place, but very shortly, from the door and by the way and I can say that Nait 5/Intro2 is much better combination than with Epos intruder.
All in all, I know that any of these two components will give better results to my system than it is now, but which one to buy first? There is a question...
