OK, so I am trying to decide what to buy next. current set up is:

112 (non x)
150 (non x)
cd5i (non itallic)
naca a5
qubic qln 166 speakers
ps3 for playback
samsung 40" le40m86bd lcd tv
dynaudio centre
montior audio rears
yamaha ax763 receiver

i am trying to figure out what to upgrade next and what to get. i am split between a sub and a new blue ray player. i am leaning towards a sub as I dont have one now. but to be honest there are some great deals on players right now.

so if you had say £250-£400 to spend, what would you go for?

How about a centre to match your front left and right?

I'm not sure you'll get much (if any) improvement replacing the blu-ray player. The main difference between them tends to be scaling when playing back standard def DVDs, and the analogue audio output but think you'll be using HDMI? A subwoofer at the top end of the budget may improve things - but try to get a home demo before you buy - not sure how capable your speakers are a low frequency.

Alternatively just spend your £400 on a big pile of CDs and Blu-ray Discs.

John,

I'd wait until I had enough for a decent sub (£500 is the starting price for good subs in my view) from the likes of REL or Velodyne.

Alternatively, wait until you've saved up enough to replace the front mains with Dynaudios. This will help timbre match the soundfield. After that look to go for Dyns on the back for the same reason (or consider completely different speakers for a better match).
