Bridging Naim amps?

Is it possible to bridge a pair of 135 so as to get one powerful mono amp? If so, how can it be done?

Bon jour Pierre,

Firstly I don't know if this is poss and secondly but perhaps the more important question is why would you want to do this??

I can only assume you wish to drive some bitch speakers Confused

Pierre,

Ah.. perhaps I should of checked your public profile first.. huh?

So your using Dbl's with two 135's..and maybe your thinking that four more are required to go active but your thinking of adding two more to the equation ...so four in total and wondering what to do with four 135's??? wrong..right??

This is getting confusing right..perhaps someone else with more experience in this area would like to help Mr Pierre!

I believe that it is more normal to bridge a stereo amp to produce a more powerful mono one. I don't see how you could do this with 135s.

JV was not a fan of this, though:-

Although it is possible to create a bridged mono from the 110 with the aid of a bit of wire and a resistor, it sounds much worse than an un-modified one, and doesn't really go any louder either.

If using 2 110s in a bi-wire system, it sounds better to use one 110 for the left and one for the right, (IMHO).

I also remember at least one comment that bridged 250s tended to go wrong and have to be returned to the service dept.

cheers, Martin
