There is a very interesting article in the muso mag Sound on Sound this month(june 2001)
On the recordings and techniques of The Naim Label. Well worth a look

I've been trying to persuade musicians to listen to hi end hi fi for 20 years! Studios have Questead, Tannoy, JBL & Genelec. Having said that I wouldn't mix on my new Intros, but I do have a NAP 1110 driving my PMC TB2's. I wouldn't listen to music on the TBs's though:-)

I did a 'sounding off' in SOS a few years ago about the disparity between musicians and listeners when it came to systems. Most of my musician friends (some not stuggling!) have, frankly, appauling hi-fis. They are happy to listen on a ghetto blaster. Maybe its the ultimate 'music comes first' expression. It's just you cant hear all the music!

I did'nt think to post to the padded cell or even look there i thought that was all fly fishing, golf and coffee talk (tee hee) but i do agree about the muso's most of them have only just figured out quality speaker cable and half decent stands .
Many of my friends like to mixdown with ghetto blasters or worse still Yamaha NS10s.

I have a small setup Nord Modular ,Pulse, JV1080,Proteus G4/Cubase and i like to mix down with kans
