If you have to ask, you just can't afford it.
Too bloody expensive basically.
I naively thought when buying the base level (for £550 ish) you got a proper level as part of the package, found out this weekend you don't. >£2500 to Fraim my Naim, no chance.

Hi Rod,
Nice to hear from you.
I am thinking of having a second fraim with my Roksan and power supply on. I may also split the power supplies so I will be looking for advice on how to house all the units.
The other thought is to buy a second 300 and look at either bi-amping or going active with the Neats.
I may have just sold the old Ruarks so I may have a small amount of money to invest into my sistem.
Regards

Wow, didn't realise that a base for a Fraim was nearly the same price as my 4 tier Mana amp stand.
Are they really that good?

For info when I bought my fraim the Base level which does indeed cost 550 ish INCLUDED a "level complete with glass and balls. I think you have been given wrong info Greeny.
To do a 5 level fraim (counting the base level)for my CDX2/282/SC/250mkii/& in my dreams XPS2 came in at approxm 1800. You must have quite a few more levels in your calculation greeny to reach 2500.

Best rack there is !
£1210 gets base plus two levels - I know as I have just bought one !
Can't wait until I can afford to add another for my turntable (and another for the other power amp....)

Keep your eyes peeled for ex-dem 300's and 500's at the moment . I've just picked up a nice discount on an ex-dem 252.

If you see an ex dem 300 or 500 then let me know, I wouldn't say no to a second 300 or 500.
The move is planned for next Tuesday, I boxed the electics last night and that was hard work!

I plan two racks. (as I have at the mo with QS)
Rack 1 = CDS3 and 82; needs Base, High Level + standard level = 540 + 395 + 335 = £1270
Rack 2 = XPS2, SC, 135, 135, Hi/Lingo/Headline; Needs Base + 4 standard levels = 540 + 4*335 = £1880
Total Price = £3150
Even more than I thought!!!

Hi Alex,
My wallet is already screaming after the 282/XPS2 - it's now just wimpering in the corner of the room saying 'no more no more...'

Isnt this a bit like putting a Morrie Minor engine into a 575 Marenello?

Pain in the wallet time again, just upgraded from 135's to a 500 and I am also awaiting delivery of a Fraim from Cymbiosis.

Andy c and Roger,
Let us know how you get on with the Fraim, I found when I purchased on it made a huge difference as well as making my sistem look good.
