How many inputs do you need?
Posted by: Sproggle on 03 August 2001
I currently use two. One for LP12 and one for CDS.
Radio isn't very good round here so I sold my NAT101.
Occasionally I hook up a DVD player and video player when i'm compiling holiday movie tapes, so the tape in/out and monitor buttons are sometimes useful.
IFFF a super-duper Pre-amp came out that knocked the spots of a 52 and was offered in TWO versions-one at (say) £6k with only ONE input and the other at (say) £12k with a dozen inputs, I could suffer? with the cheaper option provided I could swap the LP/cd sources without switching them off.
Wishful thinking !

I wouldn't want a tuner because I listen to rock, pop and dance music, and I can't bear those compressed broadcasts.
I wouldn't want a recording device because the copies are never as good as the originals.
It's always a nice day for it, have a good one

Anything else gets routed through a dedicated AV rig.

1 LP12/Troika
2 CDSii
3 Denon Tuner
4 Digital Satellite Radio/Tv
5 VCR
6 Tape Deck
If needed in future input 4 can be freed up by routing Sat via VCR as Jez suggested.
If ya gotta hook up all that stuff, may as well just get a Sony (or whatever) AV amplifier thingy and be done with it.
Or you could pawn all that stuff and buy a 52 with the proceeds
