Ebay morons

I don't get it!
Why same person bid for one item numerous times without sense. For example, 50, 52, 55, 60, 70, 90 and without any bid in between from another bidder? Confused

Duing that way, the final price is higher and that moron pays higher price at the end only because of himself and his stupid way of bidding raising the price without sense.

I know that this is auction, but wouldn't be more better to bid with more sense?

Thanks for comment.

He may have set a higher max bid, then any one else would clock up the bid without being seen.
Wouldn't be problem if you were selling the item I guess. Smile

Yes, I count with that, but still no much sense to me. There is always chance to pay smaller amount.

If you are able to monitor the auction then I'm with you, sometimes you have to put a maximum bid of what you are prepared to pay and hope there aren't too may others after it.

It's more likely that a previous bidder has set a high maximum bid, or that the seller has set a reserve price and someone is bidding in small increaments to find the level. On the other hand some people just do daft things, the worst situation to find yourself in on ebay is to be up against someone with a feedback rating of 0, you just know they are going to bid wildly and drive the price up. Sometimes it's fun to just go in and egg them on.

I once bid £410 as a max for an Olive HICAP and then ended up watching 2 guys outbid one another until the price went up to £725. Couldn't believe it. A simple case of folk not checking out what the going rate was.

If you use something like eSnipe then you protect yourself from chasing up the price and also you do not reveal yourself until about 6 seconds before the auction closes.

Sure, but you can do the same thing yourself, and avoid a fee, with a broadband connection, so I don't understand why people use people to bid for them.

So what happens when every one uses eSnipe?
Posted on: 25 January 2007 by graham55
Well, eSnipe would have a conflict of interest, but I don't suppose that they'd give a duck about that!

In theory yes - in practice no

Hammersnipe costs nothing, and bids way faster than I can manage with even my speediest clickage.
