Connecting hicap to cd 3.5--Help!

Posted by: Markus on 26 April 2002

Can anyone out there advise me how to connect my hicap to the cd 3.5? I don't have an owners manual and the local dealer is closed...

It would help make the music sweeter during the evening!

Thanks,
Markus

On the back of the 3.5 remove the shorting link which goes between the link output and the aux/ps output; put this in a safe place so you don't lose it.
Plug in one end of the black snaic (I think only one end will fit, ensure correct directionality i.e. arrows pointing towards the 3.5).
Then plug the other end of the black snaic to output 4 of the Hicap.
Then turn the hi cap on and enjoy!

Check out the connections guide on the Naim website http://www.naim-audio.com/html/start.html Look in products/owner's manuals.

When I looked on the website for instructions in the owners manual section I couldn't find anything about the 3.5. Thinking that the CD5 instructions might be helpful, I found a dead end, since they only describe (at least as far as I could discern) how to connect up a flatcap 2.

But, following NAME's advice I've got it singing in the other room. Even my wife can hear the difference!

Thanks for your help.
