Neighbors playing music in garden all day.

Posted by: matt303 on 14 June 2009

I'm so glad the people next door but one have invested in some garden speakers so they can share hit's of the 80's, football and local commercial radio with everyone in the road. Every summer weekend it starts in the morning and carries on all day even if there isn't anyone in the garden. To make things more fun next door have joined in with a different style of music, it's a right mash-up out there at the moment.

... end of rant.

I suggest borrowing some of Vuk's CD's through some Cerwin Vega's on the end of your Naim system.

Listening to industrial lathes overlaid by chanting Inuits could be enough to put them off for life!!!

Your neighbors won't know that there is a problem until you approach them. For that matter, they may not have figured out how to turn off the outside speakers yet.

I used to live in a flat and tapped on next door to warn them it was my wifes birthday so there would be a bit of a party that evening, They said not to worry because by coincidence they too were having a party. They also said they would not bother with music they would just listen to ours.

I didn't play music loud after that one.

I have an understanding neighbour as when he moved in I took him into see my system and whilst laughing about something else I told him that any noise he could make I could go louder.

Now everytime after that he held a party he pops down to tell me.

In fact the last time he came to see me to warn me he was absolutely rat arsed and when he got to his front door he tripped, fell and broke his arm.

The only noise I heard that night was the amublance folk taking him away.

I have had quite a few new neighbours in 20 years as the flat is a rented property and I always do the same thing. Never ever had any trouble.

I had a townhome and new neighbors moved in and they must have had HUGE speakers, the sound was incredible, my dining room wall was like a subwoofer. After 4 hours with the party raging I called the Police, boy they arrived in 5 minutes and put an end to that. The young woman glared at me whenever we met by accident. For the next 4 months they would crank it to MAX for 10 minutes then leave the house. It disturbed the whole complex so the housing committee drafted a nice letter to the owners and said they were going to access them fines if they didn't do something about it and showed them the police reports and a list of days this happened.

I was given much sympathy by the committee. One day I came home and there was a Rental truck and I got dagger looks from the whole crew as they moved out...... there are noise laws.
