Walloping, anyone?

England have rung the changes again. Some enforced by injury.

Todays team:

15) Lewsey; 14) Cueto; 13) Tait; 12) Noon; 11) Cohen; 10) Goode; 9) Richards; 8) Corry (capt);
7) Sanderson; 6) Worsley; 5) Jones; 4) Palmer;
3) White; 2) Mears; 1) Vickery

Second row is now very mobile and Palmer did well last week on our own throw. Vickery is out of position and I'm surprised to see Perry not in from the start, although they may use him from the bench for impact.

If England play like last week and South Africa put away their chances it will be a beating for them this time.

Time to really step it up now and put in a performance as well as a win.

My team would be
15)Strauss; 14)Cook; 13)Bell; 12)Collingwood; 11)Pieterson; 10)Flintoff; 9)Jones; 8)Giles; 7)Hoggard; 6)Harmison; 5)Anderson; 4)Joyce; 3)Panesar; 2)Plunkett; 1)Mahmood

Well, they must be good at something..........turns off TV in disgust.

Sorry Mark, should have used a different thread, but even my optimism has been shattered!

Chin up, Mark.

Think about that nice bottle of red waiting for you tonight!

I won't be able to wait that long!

You posh blokes with your rugby and red wine...

(The irony is not lost on me - where's it from? France, Italy, Argentina, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa...?)

Beer from Southwold - that's what you need!

Bless, me being called posh!!

I have a particular affiliation for S.A. wines having worked there for a couple of years. I love all 'new world' wines, mainly because they have put so much effort into upping there standards while the French have stood still.

Well a good result for England as it may finally force the issue and persuade the hierarchy to dispense with Andy Robinson. This display from 25 mins onwards was possibly the worst so far!

... and England not the only ones getting walloped today. Frown Reality returns to Murrayfield.

Oops! What was the score, Ian?
Posted on: 25 November 2006 by Ian G.
15-44 after being 10-0 up after 6 mins.
Posted on: 25 November 2006 by Chillkram
Never mind, Ian. You can take comfort in the fact that you've got England at Twickenham next up - a chance for Scotland to get back on track!

Here's hoping Wales can do something for the Northen hemisphere now. If they play well it could be a cracking game for the 'neutral'.

Errrr, no. I've just watched a chap in a number 7 black shirt go for a Saturday evening stroll - straight through the Welsh defence (sic) to put NZ out of sight by H/T.

England didn't turn up and the only benefit being that Robinson will go.

I should say that I will make an exception for Gevrey-Chambertin though.

Yeah. Some of that was awesome. The offloading, the lines of running, the handling skills, the rucking. These boys are on a different planet!

Treat yourself to a 1st Cru Santenay as an alternative, less fashionable but fantastic value (around £18). Up there with G-C, but not as well known.

Thanks Steve,

Can I get it from a 'mainstream' retailer?

Mark,

Last really good one that I've received came from The Wine Society on a trip to France.

It is Michel Colin-Deleger & Fils 2001. 2001 is not reckoned to be a particularly good vintage for Cote D'or reds but this is sublime and I'm trying to get more.

Regards,

Steve.
