I didn't know that Blighty under 'Our Maggies' rule that the GDR/DDR which didn't officially under UK Law/Eyes exist, imported hundreds of thousands of tons of both Steel & Coal regularly & annually without fail ( from Arthur's brothers) from er, The GDR, Did you ?

Insider trading?
My division boss got picked by an ear trading with company's stocks.
He remained in the place for his "friendly" friends.
I' ve risked to be thrown out because i've said it.

Any tips which must be given should really be given in the back room of a pub in London's EC postal district, rather than on this Forum.
But the authorities, in the form of the DTI, do tend to take a dim view, you know. I should know, as I am due to be called as a prosecution witness in an insider dealing case in Southwark Crown Court shortly.

On a purely anecdotal level I believe it still goes on, perhaps not as much as in the greedy '80s, but still there. Because of its very nature it can be difficult to prove, hence the small number of cases brought to court. Put simply: If you give information to a friend who later reciprocates then who is to know?
