Dance Music Recommendations

Posted by: Idris Mohammed on 21 October 2003

Hello,

Could I have some recommendations on really good dance tunes that is worth listening to? I am interested in UK style House, Trance, Techno and Rave music or a combination of all.

I just bought the Soundtrack of "Snatch" which features a track from Overseer entitled Supermoves. This track is really energetic and fast sounding. I am looking for something like that, basically instrumental with occasional voices.

Hope some of you Naimies have got some ideas. Thanks.

Regards,
Idris Mohammed.

I'll reinforce what I said on the above linked thread...

SUNSPOT - Dark Soho Smile

If you like your rave music with double mozarella, I finally scored a copy of Oceanic's album (those of "Insanity" fame) - some of it's pretty good. A rave classic though has to be Altern-8's "Full on:mask hysteria" if you can locate it. I got my vinyl through GEMM last week - a bit crackly (even after cleaning) but musically effing brilliant - oh, and any act who can make people dance at the top of ladders while shouting "ladder posse" at them, or coin the phrases "Top one, nice one, get sorted" and "Hardcore - you know the score" commands instant respect.

Also, try to get "Rave anthems" on Decadance records - triple CD boxset which is usually only a fiver in the HMV sales - there's a second box imaginatively called "Rave anthems 2" and it's equally "nice one - sorted".

Also - for the cream cheese of the crop, get a copy of Rave92 - pure class but cheesy in the extreme.

Sunscreem's O2 is an interesting dancey/rocky/ravey crossover too - pretty cool.

domfjbrown,
You seem like the kind of guy who might enjoy Hixxy Breeze & Styles - Hardcore Til I Die. Quest - Reach For Love featured on it is right up there on the cheeseometer.

They've got it at HMV for £7.99, cheap as chips (in the words of Hixxy!)
