Kings of Leon

The first two albums are great IMO but the new one is even better still. It really feels like an album with a musical journey as opposed to a collection of tracks bolted together. The playing is super tight and really melodic.

These boys have been my favourite 'guitar' band of the last five years and the new album just reinforces these feeling further.

Highly recommended.

Totally agree.

But they are even better live, and I can't waiting to hear songs from the new album in a couple of weeks time at the Carling Apollo in London...

I was gutted not to notice the tickets when they came on sale. Hopefully they will be playing Glastonbury as they are in Europe at that time and I know they loved it on previous occasions.I might see how much the touts are asking for when they come to London....

What is amazing is that seven of the songs have already been wriien out as tab within one day of album release. There are a lot of talented guitarists out there who obviously love this band. I had a very pleasurable couple of hours last night working out the nice jagged guitar from 'on call' and the overdriven repeated solo which runs through 'Arizona'. Nice!!

I heard one of the tracks on the radio and really liked it.

Great to hear the rest of the album is of that quality.

Already added to my wish list Big Grin

Cheers

The album is brilliant. A no hesitation recommendation.

Dudes,

Loved the first two albums also and will def. be buying the new one. Can any of you recommend any other bands along similar lines? I certainly haven't anything quite like them...

I liked the first album, however i discovered a fantastic band called Archie Bronson Outfit and their album Derdang Derdang. These boys are what the leon boys would love to be but just haven't got the talent!
Fantastic rock/blues/punk mixture with gravel vocals straight out of 68!

Produced by Ethan Johns... probably why it sounds so much better than their previous efforts and a more complete "package"
