Where do you buy vinyl?

Posted by: fathings cat on 28 January 2007

Hello folks apart from the obvious e bay/amazon where do you buy your vinyl from on line?
I am after a copy of Neil Youngs Prairie Wind at a sensible price.
Any recommended sites would be appreciated
thanks

Hi Gary;

I've recently received a superb condition LP (exactly as advertised) from Kelly's Records of Cardiff.

For new music and new and/or audiophile re-issues like Classic Records I use Music Direct (USA, www.amusicdirect.com). I've always had good service from them. They also carry record care products such as record cleaning products and protective inner and outer sleeves.

I also use eBay for used records. Many people on forums criticize eBay and I admit that it can be hit or miss with people's record grading. Even so I think that for a vinyl lover with a good turntable you will limit yourself by not using eBay. I have had many successful record purchases that have helped me discover much music that I would not have found without it.

Try here ; or here ; or here ; or here and here.
I'm sure there are plenty of other places as well but these are a good start.

I may come to regret having read your post & link - I could very quickly turn into a child in a massive confectionary shop looking through the list of Classic Records vinyl!

Excellent stuff - now I must seek to impose self discipline!! I've ordered the Led Zep BBC Sessions set which will let me see what problems there are if any with customs / import duties / taxes, etc.
