Could Jordan drown?

Just suppose that our Katie Price were to be shipwrecked in a warm sea (so no risk of hypothermia).

She'd obviuosly be able to tread water for a bit, but she'd tire after that. What would happen then? Would those huge bags she's had sewn into her chest act as flotation devices or as ballast?

Just curious (but I should get out more).

Breast implants can often be saline filled, silicon gel filled, or a mixture of both. The density relative to water is not far off the same so they wouldn't float, but they wouldn't sink either. Huge chest bags however might make swimming difficult and impede proper swimming arm movement, so they certainly won't help. Backstroke would definately make the overall body mass sit lower in the water, so that wouldn't be recommended.
Some are inflatable and can be adjusted for size to suit the occasion, but in this case, even if they were pumped up to beach ball size, all that would happen is that they would float half out of th ewater and the body would be suspended beneath the water under them, making it extremely difficult to get your head out of the water and making drowning very likely. They could obviously be painted orange to act as a bouy to alert passing aircraft and the coastguard, which may help. You could probably make provision for flares to be built in too.
If you were thinking of having them fitted as a safety device Graham, I wouldn't bother. If you do have it done anyway, I hope you post some pictures here. Smile

I loved a report describing her as :

"The Up The Duff Barbie"

No idea if she would float or sink ..........
