Any Kuro users using longer length system cable ?

Posted by: SC on 22 March 2010

Hello AV people,

Are there any Kuro users out there (500A or 600A) who are using a longer than standard length system cable between the monitor and media box...?

If so, are you using Pioneer's own KRP-CA01 or did you explore using something else, such as Wireworld's DisplayPort cable...?

I'm finding it hard to source the Pioneer cable, so just wondering how the Wireworld shapes up - indeed if it is even better and worth choosing in preference...? (Although a lot more money)

Thanks for any help,

Steve.

Hi, I am using one of these on my Kuro 600A"

DisplayPort 5 Metres Cable Mithra Series does the job well.

Many thanks Ian.

I had indeed come across the Mithra cables when searching...

Did you happen to notice any particular difference to the supplied Pioneer cable or did you never compare..?

I need at least 9-10m length and was wondering if I am going to be susceptible to interference across such a length....Without wanting to get into a 'cable debate' on expensive cables, I did wonder if the more expensive DisplayPort cables like the Wireworld or Pioneer's own would have better levels of shielding....?

Sometimes you get what you pay for...Sometimes not !

Steve,

I haven't done a direct comparison but I have no issues at all over 5m. No sign of any interference - still delighted with the Kuro.

Hi,
I am using the Pioneer extended cable on my 500A.
Bought it from Cymbiosis, so give them a call.

Cymbiosis...? Are they any good..?! Winker

Many thanks Carl - that was actually my first port of call many months ago (after my original Pioneer dealer drew a blank), but at the time there was no joy....However, all sorted now, it seems.... Smile

Cheers, Steve.
