Where to stay in Paris

The Sloops, Ma, Pa and three teenagers are heading to Paris in October for 6 days.

I'd like a safe relatively central location and am open to an hotel or apartment. We will have to go to Disney so being on some sort of route to it would be handy.

Due to asthma and allergies etc. we can't afford to slum it so need around 4star.

If any off the collective have suggestions they would be much appreciated.

I've stayed here a few times, not for a while though, but its handy for the Gare du Nord.

Cheap(ish) and cheerful.

Hotel Brighton

We stayed here last year and enjoyed it so much, we are headed back again in a few weeks to catch the end of "le Tour".

I shall be visiting soon an old schoolfriend in Paris whom I haven't seen since I left school over 35 years ago. He's been a professor at the American University in Paris for a long time.

He recommends the Hotel Des Grandes Ecoles in the Fifth District.
