Discovered Eric Bibb

My guitar teacher has had me playing a couple of this mans songs recently and copied a CD for me (Painting Pictures).
For anybody that loves the blues mixed with acoustic guitar this is a must listen.
It also seems highly suited to the Naim ethic; at least my system anyway.

Dennis
I have Eric Bibb - Friends, which I recommend. I'd not heard of him until recently but love the acoustic/blues mix and great vocals, very enjoyable and easy to listen and relax with.

I have 4 of Eric Bibb's albums; they are all superbly recorded (Denis, I think the album you referred to is called "Painting Signs").
I saw him in concert in York a few years ago, and afterwards he met the audience in the auditorium, talking and signing cd's. He came across as a genuinely really nice guy.

Absolutely correct Steve. It is "Painting Signs".
I just ordered "Roadworks", "Natural Light" and Spocks recommendation, "Friends" from Play and can't wait to get them on the old CDX.
I've often seen on here, requests by people for good accoustic guitar music and the usual Tommy Emmanuel and Forcione come up but never seen Eric Bibb.
I have most of the Emmanuel and Forcione collections and as exponents of the instrument they are both stunning, albeit different. Perhaps not as technically gifted, Eric certainly makes up for it with an earthiness that I guess comes from his roots type music.

Roadworks is a great CD. It is the only Eric Bibb I have though, must buy some more.

If you like Eric Bibb, Keb Mo is also worth checking out if you haven't already.

Denis,
I'm also a big fan of Eric's and have many albums, I've also seen him live many times. He's definitely worth catching live as he commands the stage, really impressive. Along with Painting Signs I especially like like Home To Me and Natural Light.
Anyway, I'm currently learning guitar and have only been able to find one song with tab for Eric, if you have any sources I would really appreciate you sharing them
Thanks
Jack

Jack,
I was checking out his website today and he's currently showing no UK tour dates but I will definitely go once he gets here.
Regarding tabs the only one I found was on Guitar Tab Universe. Maybe a Google will bring up some more. I've pretty much mastered "To Know You" from "Painting Signs" but that was from my tutor who had worked it our from the CD (clever git) as opposed to the tab. The most difficult part of that song is playing and SINGING at the same time. My tutor is a bass player and even he admits to having major problems with singing that one. The song is played with a capo on 3rd fret and keeping the low E thumping away whilst playing the various rifts. In essence, 12 bar blues around E, A & B with a G thrown in for good measure towards the end.
Sounds easy.......not.

Denis,
Cheers, will give it a go...look out for Eric at some of the folk festivals in the UK. I think he played Bridgenorth last year and Cambridge the year before.

I'm sure Eric will be glad to hear that your guitar teacher is copying his CDs. Don't you mean that your guitar teacher gave you one of Eric's CDs?

Study purposes only Chayro.
The fact that it lead me to buying 3 new CD's, it could be seen as marketing & promotion.
