New Julie Murphy al***

Not being a hardened folkie , this name meant nothing to me until a few weeks ago when I heard her first album - Black Mountains Revisited . I quite liked it but a bit finger in the ear and home knitted jumpers for me . But... the new album Lilac Tree is very different - her voice is so beautiful and the music is folk influenced but not overwhelmingly so.She sings rather like Joni Mitchell ....high praise indeed.I never thought that I would ever seriously listen to someone singing the kid's rhyme - This Little Fishy but she throws a completely different perspective on it. The label and serial no is Beautiful Jo Records - BEJOCD-26
Cheers
Glenda.

Oh Glenda,
this brought back so many memories of when my daughter was born. A truly great CD. The title track (Lilac Tree) of which it has to be said has been heard (beginning) so many times before. "1,2,3,4,5 once I caught a fish alive, 6,7,8,9,10, then I let him go again, why did you let him go cause he bit my finger so, which finger did he bite, this little finger on the right, bla bla bla. I mean this in the nicest possible way because it's not been off my CD player in the last two weeks!!
