Raff Symphonies and Piano Trios

First, I am new to the forum and would like to say how interesting I find the music forum. I am a long time classical and jazz fanatic, and have enjoyed perusing the threads on these subject for the last week or so.
I would like to recommend a few pieces by the obscure 19th century classical composer Joachim Raff. I have thoroughly enjoyed listening to his 3rd and 5th symphonies on Tudor, and his four piano trios on cpo--all beautifully crafted works with wonderful melodies. Raff's Octet for strings is also a very fine work. I don't understand why Raff's music, especially these works, are not programmed in the concert hall more often. I think Raff is a cut above any of the lesser known 19th century composers and deserving of wider exposure. Hope others will seek out and enjoy these works as much as I do.
