OK - but I'd sooner listen to the Kinks, Blackmore's Night or Chas 'n' Dave - still quite like Zep so mustn't grumble Big Grin

OK - but I'd sooner listen to Bjork or Oasis, rather than Chas 'n' Dave Eek Big Grin

On second thoughts I wouldn't listen to any of those.

According to reports they virtually blackmailed Robert Plant into doing it. They had apparently auditioned a prominent American vocalist and made it clear they were prepared to tour with him, and Plant reluctantly agreed (apparently).

Tasty gossip but hardly the best start if it's true.

tom,
and just who was this prominent american vocalist then ??

Scotty,
That's a good question and the more I think about it the more I wonder if this is all just part of the hype.

My son of 19, who generally has his "finger on the pulse" tells me the smart money's on Lenny Kravitz. A quick Google search shows that Lenny is a long time Zeppelin fan so who knows?

What about Chris Cornell..just please not Eddie Vedder. Respect, but he does just fine with the Split Enz covers.

Or they could always got the route that Journey did and hire a Filipino lounge/karaoke singer. Begs the question of how they found him..

Perhaps the famous American singer can now be revealed?

It's a damn shame about Plant and if the rest of them did tour then it just wouldn't be the same without him, IMO. Mind you, a change of lead-vocalist didn't seem to bother the remaining members of Queen very much when they toured with Paul Rogers.
